Hokkaido - Day 2

First stop for day 2, Noboribetsu (hell valley).

A small temple to worship Yao Shi Fo. Pray for good health.

more views of the sulphurous valley

Next stop, Mount Showa, one of Japan's youngest mountains. Accompanied by earthquakes, the mountain suddenly rose from a flat wheat field to its current height of 290 meters between 1943 and 1945. According to the contemporary reign of Emperor Showa (1926-1989), the mountain was named "Showa New Mountain".

Bear Ranch. We had a great time feeding the bears. 1 packet of biscuit cost 100Yen.
Those bear know very well that we will throw the biscuits to them, they will keep waving at you and stand very tall up.
